This morning I left Saalbach-Hinterglemm and headed towards Sölden, another mountain village in Austria, probably most famous for the James Bond movie that was in parts shot here.
Just like Saalbach, Sölden has a vast network of gondolas and trails which offer mountain-bikers countless options for all skill levels. Unfortunately, or should I say luckily, weather is changing and this afternoon the first rain came across the valley. Since I only got here at noon, I strolled through the town and sport stores for a bit before checking in to my hotel.
The rather luxurious sports hotel has a spacious spa and wellness area which I decided to pay a visit to. Since the card for the gondola rides is only valid from Sunday today is a real recover day and besides eating dinner at the hotel restaurant and relaxing in whirlpool, sauna and co. I’m not moving much anymore.
For tomorrow afternoon – after some trail riding – I have an hour long massage booked that will hopefully put me in the right physical state for next week’s mountaineering experience.
